Hi, I’m Mel!

I come from a background in childcare, with many years of experience working with young children and talented Early Childhood Educators. When I moved back home to St. Stephen, I ran into a challenge that so many other families here know well. I couldn’t find childcare for my own young children. That experience made the need in the community very real for me.

It didn’t take long to realize there was a gap in access, and that’s what led me to open our first early learning centre. I wanted to create something that felt supportive, reliable, and grounded in real understanding of what families need day to day. What started as a response to a personal need for my family has grown into something much bigger than I could have first anticipated. Over time, the centre has expanded and become a recognized part of the community, and I am proud of what we have grown into.

I believe in being transparent with families and keeping communication open and honest. I also place a strong value on inclusion. Every child deserves to feel like they belong, to be accepted for who they are, and to be supported in a way that meets them where they are at.

Quality matters to me in a very practical way. It manifests in how the environment is set up, the routines we build, materials we provide, the relationships we form, and the ongoing effort to keep learning and improving. My focus is always on creating a space where children feel safe, connected, and free to grow. We are honoured you would consider us to be a part of your child’s journey!
